THE MODERN VA
The Modern VA is a virtual assistance business specializing in assisting luxury wedding professionals in social media management, vendor and client relations, administrative tasks, and blog/content creation.
Brittanie from The Modern VA approached me to redesign her existing logo that she created herself in Canva. Her goal was to polish and update the logo in order to give it a professional, modern, and sleek appearance.
The Modern VA’s target audience is luxury wedding professionals, specifically planners, venues, and photographers that are looking to delegate administrative and other various tasks in order to focus on their main duties.
PRIMARY + ALTERNATE LOGOS
Brittanie had an existing brand board and wanted to keep her color scheme consisting of shades of pink and blue. She had also wanted to keep some aspects of a script font in addition to a ring icon.
I designed Brittanie’s new logos around the foundation of her current logo. Using these foundations as a guide, I started doing some market research of competitors in Brittanie’s market in addition to her target audience of wedding planners and wedding photographers. I took note of what their branding looked like in order to get a feel for what appealed to this target market in terms of colors and style.
When deciding on a creative direction for the new logo, I wanted to create something that was simple, clean, timeless, elegant, and modern all wrapped into one neatly wrapped package. For the typography, I paired the script font, Windsong, with a sans-serif font, Caviar Dreams.
For the color palette, I kept aspects of Brittanie’s previous color schemes but decided to use more muted tones of the pink and blue shades as muted and neutral tones are most popular among wedding professionals and clients alike.
Lastly, for the layout, I decided to use the Windsong font for ‘“the” and Caviar Dreams for “Modern VA”; with regular weight for “Modern” and bold for “VA” in order to differentiate the two words while also showing that they are cohesive.
